Electricity issues

Despite facing some problems due to no electricity in (half of) the classroom we managed to work according to plan today. (By the way - we could use a few extension cords, too!)

We read the first chapter of Dead Poets Society together and after that the students made their individual word lists to the chapter with the help of their laptops and an online dictionary.

I gave you the option to either translate the words into Swedish if you learn better that way, or to find an English synonym or an explanation that you understand the meaning of. The whole point is that you learn new words and that you are able to use them.

Today's class

Our first blog task was related to a text that we read in class today about a father who was outraged by his son's decision to dye his hair blond. The father was actually surprised at his own reaction. He thought that he was an open-minded parent until his views were challenged...

I asked the students to write a comment on how they think their parents would react if they decided to get a tattoo or a piercing.

Task 1

How do you think that your parents would react if you had a tattoo or a piercing done (or something else along those lines that you can think of)? Write a short comment.
